Hogenakkal is a hamlet in the Pennagaram taluk of Dharmapuri district, in the State of Tamil Nadu, India. The hamlet is close to the confluence of the Kaveri and Chinnar rivers, just upstream of Hogenakkal Falls. It is near the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border, which is partly formed by the Kaveri River.

Occasionally named the "Niagara Falls of India," it is also well-known for its therapeutic baths. Hoge, also called Marikottayam, is the Tamil word for smoke, while Kal is the word for rock
